Hope Church: Who Are We?

Hope Church, Garnant

Hope Church is one of three branch churches of Swansea Valley Bible Church in Ystradgynlais in the Swansea Valley. This means that though we’re a distinct church in the Amman Valley, our identity, vision and purpose have very much grown out of our parent church, SVBC.

Hope Church grew out of a home group that had been meeting in the area for quite some time, and was officially planted and launched as a church after a tent mission (led by the people of SVBC) in the grounds of the Amman United playing fields in July 2011. The people then began meeting in the old Job Centre in Dynevor Road, Garnant.

The church was initially led by Andy & Emma Piddington, but (as from January 2016) is now led by Barny & Christie Harper. Both couples are part of the leadership team at Swansea Valley Bible Church, Ystradgynlais.

In 2015, Swansea Valley Bible Church purchased the building, and it has since become the permanent home of Hope Church.

Hope Church now has a regular, and growing, attendance of around 30-50 people, including children! It has a full schedule of events throughout the week.

If you’re in the area and want to find out more, not only about Hope Church, but also about Christianity, the teachings of The Bible and the experience of life lived out in relationship with God, why not get in touch or pop in and see us?
